Beautiful Homes And Interior Design

beautiful homes and interior design
Question: Question for architects and home designers. What's going on with new houses design, they are making these

ridiculos home plans where you enter a house and the first thing you see is a wall, the houses are divided in squares with interior walls evrywhere making houses small and cramped, what about columns? I saw one where the small dining area had 4 columns you couldn't walk into the house w/o hitting one, what about those rear entry garage? instead of having a nice backyard now you have a garage and a alley for cars where only one car can drive at a time. So when you get home you still have to drive to the end of the block turn around on the alleyway if there is another car leaving his house one of you has to back up, once you reach home you enter you house trough the back, ceilings: you see this houses with beautiful tall roofs on the outside as you enter, the interior ceilings are flat and low. Isn't cheaper and better to leave the vaulted ceiling inside, leave walls and columns off, have a front garage?

Answer: I am neither an architect or designer, but I am a contractor who works exclusivly with both...and for better or worse (worse in my opinion)..there is a growing trend in new home design to mimic the style of homes from times past. They are designing narrow homes so more can be built on their parcel of land,so the insides become more chopped up, the rear entry garage allows them to build narrow since a garage will be in the rear not on the side, vaulted ceilings are more expensive due to all the additional drywall work involved. You may also have noticed that they are also putting in sidewalks again...there is this same trend that people want a more neighborhood community feel, with homes closer together and sidewalks connecting everything.I am as neighborly as the next guy but I'll keep my 3.5 wooded acres...I like neighbors,I just do not want to see and hear them all the time.

Question: Do old Home Beautiful Magazines have any value?

My mum collected Home Beautiful for several years in the 1980s.. she kept them all, and most are in fairly good nick. The pastel decor is pretty funny now, but I'm hesitant to turf them. Does anyone think I could sell them on eBay, or is anyone likely to want them as giveaways?

Answer: Ebay is a good idea. or you could try a Boot sale, if not the Charity shops would certainly sell them

Question: help please tell me what to do with this person?

my mother moved in with me her and her boyfriend. She makes me so sad and unhappy. I am taking 5 classes and i clean, cook, grocery shop and things and well she wont help with the dishes and if they are in the sink because i want her to do them she complains. She takes my clothing out of my room and wears them with out my permission. She stains them. I have a beautiful home its very classy and me and my husband lives here no kids. She wipes her dirty hands on my nice towls, i have to pick her up from work her her boyfriend is a drunk and when they go places together she calles me to pick her up she depends on me foreverything. i am so sick of her i am hurting inside. I love to garden and she just watches me she doesnt ask me if she can garden with me she just stares at me and says i wish i had a garden i wish i had a nice house. She and her boyfriend live in my spare room and she causes so much drama i am staring to get depressed. I am usually a positve person its hard to stay that way

Answer: I would just tell her how felt, and if she doesn't like it well tell her to move out and make mess in her own house.I would see how that goes, and if she doesn't move out you can file a lawsuit against her.

GOOD LUCK!

Even though she is your mom you must draw the line between friends and her being a slob all the time.
