Question: Restoring 100-yr old house-trying to find info, plans, or manufacturer to help w/original look, but how?

Have tried to ask in our community, but not many left who may have known. Any where to go online? What keywords would help narrow it down? Already tried with no results: "looking for 100-year-old Queen Anne Victorian house plans bay windows turret 2 verdanas" We were told a couple years ago that the house was one of a few prefab homes brought in by rail by Sears, but had contact with Sears Roebuck Homes author who felt sure that wasn't after seeing pictures. She thought perhaps Aladdin as Sears started building two years after our house was built. Have looked through hundreds of pictures. What to do?

Answer: Sears prefab houses are common. I have a number of house plans from that time frame. The Queen Anne Victorian could look like anything. If you can get a picture of it, that would be big help. Check with the local historian or newspaper for pictures.

If that doesn't work , The exterior wouldn't change much unless they added on at some point. You could figure that out by the foundation. The interior could have been cut up badly or not much at all. The clues for that are there, but most people will not want a Queen Anne Victorian interior.

I would restore the outside as much as possible, but a more modern interior would be fine.

Question: Halloween costume-- please help!?

Every year my cousin and I dress up in really cool costumes to win the prize in our neighborhood. This year, she is being a refrigerator and I was going to be an oven, but the only oven costume I can find takes three weeks to make and I need one that would take a very, very short time to make. Please, if anyone has a good way to make a homemade oven costume, or any other kitchen appliance that would go well with a refrigerator or even a very creative food costume of a cold food that would go into a refrigerator that would be so great, thanks!

Answer: Even if we showed you what it looks like now, it would have no relevance to what you'll find in December. They're predicting anywhere from 1 inch to a foot by tomorrow depending upon where you live and where the squalls happen.

Where you live around here really makes a difference - or in your case, where you're going to visit. Lake Effect Snow causes drastic differences within a few miles. For example, I've got 4 inches of snow currently on my picnic table but there's basically none 10 miles away at my brother's home.

Closer to the time you're coming in Dec. ask again with all saying where you're going to be.
